Cooling Electronics in Ruggedized Transit Cases and Enclosures
Compact, Energy-Efficient Cooling Systems
Cooling Systems for Mobile Electronics in Military and SATCOM OTM Programs
Aspen Systems designs compact, low-voltage military-grade Environmental Control Units (ECUs) for cooling active electronics in operational transit cases.
We have deployed over 10,000 ruggedized ECUs throughout US Military programs, including the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JTLV) and Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T).

Military Grade Cooling for Electronics
Aspen Systems’ military-grade environmental control units (ECUs) are engineered to condition air within sealed electronics transit cases, delivering over 550 W of cooling and 300 W of heating.
Designed to meet rigorous Military Standards—including shock, vibration, environmental, and electrical criteria—these units are fully qualified and deployed in large-scale production, with over 10,000 shipped. Currently supporting the JLTV program, they represent a proven, reliable solution for mission-critical applications.

Air Flow of Transit Case Cooling System
Aspen Systems’ Environmental Control Units (ECUs) feature a dual-loop design engineered to deliver exceptional thermal management while protecting sensitive electronics from external contaminants.
The ‘clean loop’ circulates conditioned air within a sealed chamber, ensuring electronics remain isolated from dust, moisture, and debris. Simultaneously, the ‘dirty loop’ efficiently expels heat to the external environment, maintaining optimal internal temperatures. Built to meet stringent military standards for ruggedness, reliability, and compact performance, our ECUs provide powerful, low-maintenance cooling solutions for mission-critical and industrial applications.
