Aspen’s personal cooling system was selected for the prestigious R&D 100 Award given annually to the top 100 new products of the year worldwide. Presented by Cahners Publishing, the R&D 100 Awards are often referred to as the Oscars of invention. Among other winners selected for these awards were automobile companies, national laboratories, Universities, and other high tech companies. Aspen’s personal cooling system is the smallest and lightest refrigeration-based unit ever developed or sold commercially. Its use is primarily for military personnel, first responders, and law enforcement and it can be designed in man-portable, vehicle-installed, or hand-carried configurations.
